Volunteers In Parks Program
Marshall Gold Discovery SHP is the site of Sutter’s Mill and the gold discovery, a moment that shaped the future of California. Annually, thousands of schoolchildren from all over the state and people from all over the world visit the park to learn about the discovery of gold, the California Gold Rush, and try their hand at panning for gold.

Marshall Gold Discovery SHP invites you to join other volunteers who are helping to keep the history of the park and the gold rush vibrant and alive.
We invite you to join us for our next Docent Training Class beginning on Tuesday, August 8, at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. View the entire training schedule.
